Hennes and Mauritz - And Shanghai Fashion Week reveal the full campaign images for the collaboration with Jacques Wei

Globally renowned fashion brand H&M, in partnership with Shanghai Fashion Week, unveils the second season of the Chinese Designer Collaboration Project: The JACQUES WEI H&M Collection. The full campaign images and video were officially released today, capturing the essence of the collection through a visual language that balances poetic imagination with tangible appeal. Themed around the 2026 Chinese New Year and inspired by the Year of the Horse, the new collaboration offers womenswear and versatile accessories defined by precise, rational tailoring and delicate fabrics. The collection will be launched on January 21 on HM.COM.CN, H&M T-mall Flagship store and available from January 22 in H&M selected stores of Mainland China.

Following JACQUES WEI’s sophisticated use of color, the collection unveils an Eastern-inspired palette of bright red, dark camel brown, agate grey, and moonlight blue to express an aesthetic of depth and grace. Horses gallop through the prints, represented by lively lines, bringing vitality and spirit to the serene base tones. With meticulous attention to lines and silhouettes, the collaboration merges rational construction with emotional expression, capturing the romantic spirit of urban women beneath their polished exteriors.

Reinterpreting classic silhouettes, the collection includes halter tops, maxi slip dresses, fringe-trimmed slit skirts, pullovers, shirts, trousers, suiting sets, and curated pieces. JACQUES WEI’s iconic animal prints run throughout the designs, enriched with beading, fringes, and metallic accents, adding layers of texture and contrast against soft fabrics, telling a visual story where untamed spirit collides with understated elegance. The halter top and slip dress in lustrous fabric are gently shaped with delicate ties, while a metallic horse-shaped buckle adds a chic touch at the neckline. The fringed skirt evokes the movement of a horse’s mane, translating effortless power into wearable form. The cropped jacket is adorned with flowing horse patterns. Its rugged textures and structured tailoring give the piece new vitality. The blazer with metallic buttons features sharp lines and defined shapes, elevated by metallic horse-head clasps for a chic and modern look.

Accessories continue the collection’s structural aesthetics and metallic detailing, keeping the horse motif alive in everyday style. Necklaces, brooches, and wide openwork bracelets depict the horse with sleek lines, infusing the look with modern tension. The saddle-shaped shoulder bag, crafted from structured materials, emphasizes a sculptural form softened by graceful curves. The chain belt is interspersed with metallic motifs of “horse”, “sun”, and “swallow”, inspired by the traditional Chinese motif “Galloping Horse and Flying Swallow,” embodying a refined, contemporary aesthetic through refined design language.

Jacques Donghui Wei, Founder and Designer of JACQUES WEI, shared, "In this collaboration, our source of inspiration is the zodiac horse. We aimed to integrate JACQUES WEI’s aesthetic language with H&M’s vision to celebrate Eastern culture. Through the harmonious dialogue of colors, fabrics, structures, and tailoring, we blended traditional zodiac symbolism and festive hues into the wardrobe of modern women. Our goal was to create a collection that is both artistic and wearable. We hope this collection can inject new inspiration and a unique fashion experience into consumers' daily outfits.”

Sara Gydal Lindquist, Manager of H&M Asia Design Hub said

"Collaborating with JACQUES WEI has been a truly inspiring journey. We were captivated by his unique insights into the integration and innovation of Eastern and Western aesthetics. This collection fully embodies his iconic creative style and transforms the symbolic Chinese zodiac sign into wearable everyday pieces. We look forward to sharing these works that integrate cultural narratives with modern design language with more fashion enthusiasts,”
