LN Studio announces the completion of Project 21, a ground-up new build designed in collaboration with SMPL Design Studio. Created for a young family seeking calm and longevity, the home is guided by the design principles of Elegant, Fresh, and Tranquil—a framework that shaped every architectural and interior decision.

Set within a mature, tree-lined neighbourhood just west of Toronto, where no two homes are alike, Project 21 was envisioned as a serene refuge from the pace of modern life. The design intent was to create a timeless and restorative home that feels both grounded and contemporary. Purposeful asymmetries—such as an island with a rounded leg balanced by a stone block, or lighting fixtures of uneven proportions—introduce subtle visual interest while maintaining calm continuity. A restrained material palette and seamless millwork integration establish a sense of cohesion, while the interplay of line, texture, and form invites quiet reflection.

The project features seamless millwork integration and a consistent use of natural textures. Warm wood tones, Arabescato marble, and natural textures are layered with linen, sheers, and soft curvature to create an enveloping, tactile atmosphere. Curved elements—seen in the custom hood fan, the stair-integrated media unit, and the gentle arc of the fireplace wall—bring a sense of movement and softness to the home’s linear foundation.

Located in Ancaster, a community prized for its mature landscape and small-town charm, Project 21 captures the clients’ desire to “slow down” and build a home that would evolve gracefully with their family.
