Cannes Film Festival Through Bella’s Eyes - A Red Carpet Reflection

2025-06-02

This special feature invites our readers into the dazzling world of the Cannes Film Festival through the eyes of  Izabella Zofia Switon-Kulinska, known as Bella Zofia. Bella is an editor at cChic, a luxury content creator, fashion muse, and storyteller with a keen eye for elegance. Known for her refined aesthetic and captivating presence, Bella blends the art of visual storytelling with a deep appreciation for cinema, culture, and timeless style.

Join us as Bella shares her personal insights from the red carpet, the films that moved her, and the magic of Cannes beyond the lens.

cChic: First of all, welcome back! You absolutely dazzled on the red carpet. What was your first impression stepping into Cannes this year?

Bella: Thank you! It was surreal. The energy is electric — you feel like you're stepping into cinematic history. The sun, the sea, the flashing cameras — it all hits you at once. It’s overwhelming in the best way possible.

cChic: You’ve walked red carpets before, but Cannes is its own universe. What makes it stand out?

Bella: Cannes is sacred ground for film lovers. It's more than glamour; it’s a celebration of storytelling. The level of artistry, the international presence, and the sense of legacy — it’s deeply inspiring. You’re surrounded by people who are truly passionate about cinema. There is also another side that makes the festival so unique. Beautiful Galas, fantastic Fashion shows, Exclusive Parties at the hotels and Villas. Brands from around the world host their lavish events. In the morning, everyone can be spotted near Croisette sipping their coffee or eating a croissant. You can see Brad Pitt walking by (this happened to me) and Coco Rocha sunbathing.  It’s normal in Cannes.

cChic: Let’s talk fashion — you looked radiant. Tell us about your red carpet look.

Bella: Thank you! I wore a few designers that I adore. For example, a gold floor-length gown that felt like a dream—light, ethereal, and just the right amount of shimmer for that Riviera light. It was designed by Philipp Plein. I brought with me some gowns from Swiss Haute Couture Designer Linda Sow. I wanted something that channelled vintage elegance but still felt playful and modern. The accessories were kept minimal, I was always wearing handbags by Thalie Paris,  jewellery from Sartoro Geneve, watches by Hublot or Frederic Constant.

cChic: Beyond the red carpet, what were some highlights of your Cannes experience?

Bella: Attending the premieres, of course — there's nothing like watching a film with its creators in the room. But I also loved the conversations at the beachside lounges, the spontaneous moments with other creatives, and the panels that delved deep into the future of cinema. Cannes is as much about connection as it is about celebration. I loved attending the Chopard dinner, hosted by Caroline Scheufele, where  I was surrounded by A-list celebrities. Another special moment was the Better World Fund Gala with Kevin Spacey, or even the Big Art Festival that took place in Monaco.

cChic: Did any particular film or artist leave a lasting impression?

Bella: Absolutely. Spike Lee’s ‘Highest 2 Lowest’  Premiere was incredible, with many stars and a big tribute to Denzel Washington. He is one of my favourite actors and I was happy to see in. He also thanked me for my story and shared it. I was truly happy.  Apart from this movie,e I attended 3 more red carpet premieres: Woman and Child by Saeed Roustaee, Jeunes Mères by Jean-Pierre & Luc Dardenne and History of Sound by Oliver Hermanus.

Cannes Film Festival Through Bella’s Eyes

cChic: What do you take with you after this festival?

Bella: A sense of creative renewal. It’s easy to get lost in the hustle, but Cannes reminds you to fall in love with the process again — to take risks, to tell stories that matter, and to embrace your own voice.

cChic: Finally, any advice to someone dreaming of attending Cannes one day?

Bella: Show up as your most authentic self. Whether you're a filmmaker, actor, content creator or simply a lover of cinema, there’s space for you here. Be curious, be open, and don’t be afraid to start a conversation. The magic often happens off-screen. Be prepared for the late nights, as a lot of events start late and take some flat shoes with you.

cChic Magazine thanks Izabella Zofia for sharing this exclusive glimpse into one of the world's most iconic festivals. See more of their Cannes experience in our photo spread below.
